Indie Connect is looking for an intern with a variety of technology skills.
Who We Are
Indie Connect is a membership organization that provides networking and educational opportunities singers, musicians, songwriters, record labels, managers and all other sectors of the independent music industry. We are like a Chamber of Commerce for the Indie Music Industry. Our members are widely diverse, being of all ages and from all music genres. They range from former major label stars and hit songwriters to people just aspiring to be in the music industry. We work daily with super creative artists as well as the highly structured support businesses that make creative careers happen.
We have multiple meetings per week occurring in Nashville and have sprouted outlying chapters in New York City and Birmingham, AL. We have been in business for 3 years.
What We Need
We need an intelligent, naturally curious tech-savvy person to bring all things technology.
- Assess our technology and make suggestions for improvement.
- Connect, disconnect, configure and whatever else may be needed in day-to-day operations and when we are in crisis situations.
- Establish best practices protocols for backing up our data and keeping it secure
- Research new technologies (computers, cell phone apps, software, websites etc.) that will benefit musicians to present to members during our networking meetings.
- Facilitate drop-in workshops where our members can stop by with technology questions and get help. (This portion of the internship may generate income for the intern.)
- Participate in general computer inputting as needed.
Skills required
- Knows current technology and chases down new stuff as it comes out.
- Plays well with others. Must be patient in helping people with their computer/computing challenges.
- Must have a laptop of their own.
- Able to speak and write clearly.
- Sense of humor appreciated.
